Amalfi Coast -5 Day Self Guided Walk
5 days Ravello to Positano
Walk from idyllically situated Ravello to the elegant resort of Positano, Outstanding coastal scenery which can only be appreciated on foot, Picturesque towns and colourful fishing villages, Ancient paths and steps linking villages and farms, Walk through wild Latari mountains high above the sea

The Amalfi Coast is renowned as one of the most beautiful places in Italy. It is a popular tourist destination both with the Neapolitans and the rest of the world. But while the hordes stream onto the beaches along the coast in summer, few - if any - are to be found in the Lattari mountains above the coast. This walking trip travels into the heart of these mountains, into the Valle delle Ferriere, where the paths are usually only used by one or two locals with their donkeys. There is still a chance to get a taste of life along the Costiera though, by descending each afternoon to spend the night in a popular seaside resort.

It is also home to manicured gardens and a beautiful baroque Duomo, which you can explore before the journey begins. This afternoon, trek to the Valle delle Ferriere, where waterfalls and lush flora and fauna abound. Steep steps descend to the historic city of Amalfi, where it is claimed the best ice-cream in the world can be found. Be sure to buy a cone and decide for yourself!
Day 2Amalfi to Conca dei MariniWalk a 1000 year old footpath, the Maestro dei Villaggi, which winds through ancient villages and on to the Conca dei Marini, a small town high on a ridge above the sea. Stay here tonight, in a hotel with wonderful sea views.

The peaceful fishing village of Vettica Maggiore is our stop tonight, and it is visible along the rocky slopes of Mont Sant'Angelo from several miles away. Our family-run hotel here is friendly and if it's warm enough this evening, you can take a refreshing dip in the pool
