Day 1BangkokFast-paced and fascinating Bangkok boasts some great sights. Arrive early to admire the Wat Pho or to indulge in some retail therapy.
Days 2-3Luang PrabangCool off by the spectacular Kuang Si Falls before boarding a riverboat to the revered Pak Ou Caves, filled with hundreds of images of Buddha.
Days 4-5VientianeExplore laid-back Vientiane by bike, on foot or by jumbo. Make sure to also visit the colourful morning market - it's open all day.
Day 6Halong BayEnjoy a relaxing cruise on beautiful Halong Bay amid magnificent limestone karsts.
Days 7-8HanoiThis is a city of contrasts: be delighted by a traditional water puppet performance and pay respects to the father of modern Vietnam at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex.
Day 9HueAn imperial past comes to life in Hue, where we wander the great walled citadel, the Nguyen emperors' tombs and the stately Thien Mu Pagoda.
